The PS4 is Getting a Makeover

Written by Damien

The Playstation 4 new model has been spotted in the wild. Not quite a slim and not quite an upgrade. With it a new Dualshock 4 controller that sees the light bar implemented on the touchbar(as well as still being on the back). The new model which is expected to make its announced debut at Sony's event on September 7th in New York along with the more powerful console Neo is supposed to be a slightly slimmer new design of the PS4.

The PS4 New as we will call it will coincidently feature a 500GB hard drive just like it's big brother system. The only question one would ask is why Sony is deciding to go with the same sized hard drive when rival company Microsoft just released a slim version of their powerful Xbox One on August 2nd that features a beefy 2TB hard drive. The only logical guess is to keep the price of the system down or that other versions may appear if not now then down the line featuring a bigger drive. You can still upgrade your hard drive by accessing the port on the back of the system.

As it looks the PS4 New model will feature all of the goodies in the box that came with the original PS4 a controller, a mic, hdmi cable, a/v cable and mini usb the system will also be ready for PSVR should you opt into that by purchasing PSVR and the PS eye camera. The back of the system features single ports for power, hdmi, aux and ethernet however there is no optical port for audio like on the older PS4's.

The systems new design features nods to the Playstation controller by featuring Circle, Triangle, X and Square symbols on the bottom made of rubber to help keep the system from sliding as well as the same symbols on the side where the circle appears to be an actual hole for a stand. That stand will not come with the new PS4.

The word is(and as you can see below) that the New PS4 won't be coming with the bells and whistle of 4K capability like Xbox One S but is meant to be a cheaper option compared to the super powerful Neo. It is also believed that the New PS4 will become the base model when it releases on what people believe will be September 14 just a week after Sony's show in New York.

You can check out all the unofficial pictures we were able to gather on the PS4 New below

Since we don't know anything concrete about the New PS4 all we can really do is say that we do know it exists and an announcement is forthcoming on September 7th till then keep it locked with us at Skyematrixgaming as we will surely keep you posted on the New PS4 model.

Final Fantasy XV Delayed

Written by Damien

Today Square-Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy XV has been delayed from it's original September 30th release date to November 29,2016 Worldwide. The news comes after hearing rumors over the weekend that Gamestop employees are to change their Final Fantasy XV promotional posters to reflect the new release date.

The reason for the delay is simple. Square-Enix would like more time to polish the game. In order to match their creative vision with reality more time is needed. Director Hajime Tabata had this to say in a statement regarding the delay

"to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series" and that they need "a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this."

"As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait," he added. "As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding."

So what do you think about the delay of Final Fantasy XV are you mad or do you understand? Sound off on our Twitter or our Facebook we want to hear from you.

Quake Might or Might Not cost Money

Written by Will

Tim Willts, creative director of iD Software, has made a statement saying they are unsure of whether Quake Champions will be free-to-play or will cost money to buy. There have been loads of new info about the game at QuakeCon last week but Tim is still unsure with a quote of "I can definitely say that it is a really hard problem. And so for us we're trying to figure out exactly what people want more of, and how they perceive it. And I'm not trying to be cagey! It's not like we know and just aren't trying to telling anybody, we don't know and are still trying to figure it out." All cost aside many fan are excited for a new Quake seeing as there hasn't been one since 2008. It shows to bring back the Arena shooter into the new age. What do you guys think about it and should it be free-to-play or should it be standard price, let us know on Twitter @SkyeMatrix!
