Walking Dead Season 3

Written by Damien

Telltales The Walking Dead series will be going into it's third season this fall. Following a more adult Clementine as she tries to make sense of this zombie apocalypse as well as new character Javier. An excerpt from the official Telltale Blog shines some light on what we can expect.

"Yes, Clem returns and will play a key role, but this is a new story as much as it is a continuation of Seasons One and Two. Players completely new to the Telltale series will be able to jump right in without feeling lost at all, and those familiar with previous seasons will perhaps find some even deeper meaning, as we'll be working to ensure save file decisions will carry over from the last two games if you've played them in the past."

The Walking Dead Season 3 has no set release date outside of the Fall announcement but you can check out the teaser trailer below...

Is a Sonic announcement coming next month

Written by Damien

Sonic the Hedgehog has a 25th year anniversary coming up and one cheeky gamer seems to have figured out a possible announcement date for the next title to celebrate this momentous occasion. Sonic fan Richard DiCicco tweeted at the official Sonic Twitter account asking how many chili dogs it would take for them to announce when we could expect some news on the new Sonic title. It turns out their answer which could very well be a joke or true is 722 which Richard then figured out that if that meant anything it meant we may be hearing something on July 22nd. You can see the original tweet below...

Now we at Skyematrixgaming find this news to be very interesting and if there is something to be announced on July 22nd you better believe we will be ready to let you know.

Disney had big plans for Infinity before it's cancellation

Written by Damien

Disney announced the end of their toys to life line Infinity last month but that hasn't stopped the interwebs from finding out just what the company had planned before their untimely departure from making games. First reported by Kotaku and later elaborated on by Superherohype it turns out Disney had plans to release an Infinity 4.0 playset which would've seen the likes of figures from Cars 3, Star Wars Episode VIII, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok.

We even got a glimpse at figures that were in production like a Doctor Strange figure and the plans for 12" premium figures based on The Hulk, Buzzlightyear, Darth Vader and Iron Man to name a few. These 12" figures would've lit up and done different things in Disney Infinity as opposed to the previous toys these characters have.

There was also a planned "Story Mode" for the Toybox which would've seen more versatility for the toys of the playsets. Disney Infinity released August 2013 and the plans for the release of the Dory set in June are still underway.

You can check out the trailers for the Doctor Strange and 12" Hulk figure below via Infiniteer Adventures

Open your eyes...Open your eyes, wake up Link

Written by Damien

Nintendo has finally announced the new title in the Legend of Zelda series as well as show off a new trailer and a buttload of information about the upcoming Wii U and NX title. The Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild plans to reinvent the series by breaking the original conventions of previous installments like linearity. This game is more like A Link Between Worlds and that is a good thing. Link can now jump which is a series first and it's a move for the better as he can also climb now too giving him more room to traverse and makes the game more organic as a whole.

This game is also different in that as Link you now starts off in underwear and wind up wearing various different outfits throughout the game because of this. You now have an array of weapons instead of just the standard Master Sword, like an axe which you can use to cut down trees for bundles of firewood. That's right Link now hunts and collects things because now Link camps out and eats!

What we have seen so far from the demo and trailer is not much. According to Nintendo the demo (which solely focuses on the area The Great Plateau) only represents one percent of the final map. This is going to be a huge and wide adventure where going to every part of the horizon is possible, however some conventions will remain the same as main dungeons will still only have one main entrance according to series creator Eiji Anouma "It would just be too confusing if there were multiple start points in a dungeon."

A new line of Amiibo has also been announced for Breath of the Wild featuring Link with a crossbow called Archer, Link on horseback called Rider and a Guardian. The wolf Link amiibo from The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess will also work with Breath of the Wild and if you have a save file the hearts you earned in Twilight Princess will carry over to Breath of the Wild. If not your wolf Link will only have 3 hearts respectively. You can have wolf link help you hunt for food and fight enemies but once he dies he is gone and can only be summoned once a day.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild will release in March 2017 on both Wii U and NX, below is the reveal trailer and Wolf Link Amiibo trailer. We at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted as more news about Breath of the Wild develops.

Games will perform better on XBOX ONE S

Written by Damien

Gears of War 4 will perform better on the new XBOX One as opposed to the original XBOX One released back in 2013. The new Xbox One S will see improvements to the CPU and GPU making it stronger and faster in comparison to the original XBOX One. Because of this Gears of War 4 will employ a dynamic resolution system as well as the support for high color dynamic range, which will give Gears better resolution above all else on things like metal and armor. Due to the improvements of the new 40 percent smaller XBOX One Gears 4 will run at 60fps and a respective 30fps on the older XBOX.

Microsoft also announced also announced a high-end version of the XBOX One codenamed Scorpio which can output in 4K to release in holiday 2017, The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson had this to say in regards to a 4K version of Gears of War 4

"We have to look at what the engine can do with the power that Scorpio has," said Fergusson. "Because we're mastering at 4K, it's not about assets or art. It's about getting the milliseconds down in terms of getting the game to 4K at 60 or 30 [fps] depending on single-player or multiplayer."

XBOX One S will release in August 2016 and Gears of War 4 will release on October 11, 2016. Gears of War 4 will also be one of the first games that if you buy it digitally you will have it on XBOX One and Windows 10 respectively. To see all about the aforementioned XBOX One S and Gears of War 4 check out the videos below.

Crash Bandicoot Skylander and Remasters Announced

Written by Damien

Sony announced at their E3 press conference that Crash Bandicoot will be coming to Skylanders as an exclusive figure for their Imaginators playset on Playstation 4. If you were excited for that, then the real news here is that Sony also announced they are working with Activision to bring remasters of the first three Crash games to PS4.

There currently is no date on when to expect the remasters. Skylanders: Imaginators is due on October 16, 2016. You can check out the reveal trailer below of Skylanders Imaginators.

There are two lingering questions we have about Crash entering the Skylanders games. As it is currently listed, Crash Bandicoot is only available for purchase in a $99 bundle for the PS4 and PS3. It is listed as $25 more than the regular Starter Packs. Will people be able to purchase Crash separately at a later date? If that's the case, it raises the question about how previous Skylanders toys have been handled and if this will follow suit. In previous entries, Skylanders toys were compatible across all platforms. Will Crash Bandicoot make his way to the other platforms if he is available for purchase separately?

We at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted on when you can expect to see the releases of these titles.

New Wolfenstein: New Colossus

Written by Devon

At the opening moment of Bethesda's 2016 E3 conference, the publisher flashed a brief screenshot before announcing Quake Champions. If you look closely you'll see a list of games that Bethesda has released over the years, including their first game Commander Keen. Just after listing for Old Blood is New Colossus but with the date blacked out.

This is clearly a tease for eagle-eyed viewers. It is unclear whether this is DLC, a new stand-alone campaign or a full game, but it is an enticing tease, to say the least. My guess is a stand-alone campaign set after the events of New Order. If Old Blood is a prequel, this might be a sequel. Hopefully, we'll get more info soon!

New Prey title coming to PS4 and XBOX One in 2017

Written by Damien

During Bethesda's E3 Conference the company announced that they are working on a new Prey title. It will release in 2017 for Playstation 4 and XBOX One be developed by Arkane Studios.

Here is how Bethesda describes the new title in a blog post:

"You are Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. You awaken aboard the Talos 1 in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force that has taken over. You'll have to rely on the tools you find on the station - along with your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities - to combat the growing threat and, hopefully, survive."

You can also check out the CG trailer below...

Prey 2 was initially announced in 2011 from the developer Human Head. It went completely dark and was eventually removed from the Bethesda website. Reports later showed up stating that development had been taken over by Arkane, but was officially cancelled by Bethesda in 2014. As you can see in the trailer, the 2 has been dropped and the game has been built from the ground up.

We at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted on the new Prey title as more news becomes available.

FIFA 17 at E3 2016

Written by Dan

It has been almost a year since FIFA 16 graced consoles around the world, providing players with the most realistic soccer experience to date. The next installment in the FIFA franchise is just around the corner.

FIFA 17 has officially been announced, and with this announcement came the confirmation that the game will move from the Ignition engine to the Frostbite engine, making the in-game models look even more like their real life counterparts. On top of the updated graphics and environments, the trailer at E3 also shows the introduction of a new story mode; FIFA 17: The Journey.

The story follows a character named Alex Hunter, and shows his progression through the English Premier League. The trailer provides a look at the highs and lows that Hunter experiences through his career, and includes drama that can only be found in the beautiful game. Several EPL managers also make an appearance in the game, including Arsène Wenger and Jose Mourinho. This mode is a step in a new direction for the FIFA franchise and has the potential to deepen the playability of 17, and future installments if the story mode is continued. It will also be interesting to see how the story mode implements playable matches, and how they will affect the career and progression of Hunter.

FIFA 17 will still contain the same player vs. player modes, the widely popular Ultimate Team mode, and there will be special perks for those who order the Deluxe Edition. Fifa 17 will release on Sept. 27 in North America.

In an interview with The Financial Times, House says the system will cost more than the standard $350 PS4 while also being sold alongside it. He also went on to say not to expect the console's appearance at this year's E3.

There currently is no release date or even a time when we can expect the console to be revealed, it is nice to know however that most of the rumors surrounding the system are true i.e. all games will support both standard and neo, but consoles will support PSVR and the higher CPU and GPU respectively.

Thumper at E3

Written by Devon

At this point, anyone who knows me, knows that I love rhythm games. From the beginning I was an advocate of DDR. I invested in all the Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles (except for RB4, because I wanted a new experience). I jumped all over Xonic: Superbeat. Hatsune Miku is a close favorite. Hell, I have even imported some games just to scratch that itch. Drool is taking the idea of rhythm games and elevating it to a whole new level with their upcoming release, Thumper. Here is the trailer for the chaotic rhythmic sensory overload that is Thumper.

The creators, Marc and Brian, had this to say about their upcoming presence at E3:

"Thumper, our rhythm violence game, will be at E3 and playable on both PSVR and PS4.

Thumper has been called "PSVR's most spectacular game" and some think it might be PSVR's killer app. We hope you have the chance to try it yourself at E3!

To play Thumper on PSVR, you'll need to book an appointment via Sony's E3 PSVR app. The app will be available on the first day of E3 at the PlayStation booth. We encourage you to download the app and book a demo slot ASAP.

Brian will showcase the non-VR mode of Thumper in the PlayStation booth all three days of E3 as well. Stop by for a demo or chat. We just might have some new content to show you!"

If you have any interest in rhythm games or PSVR I highly recommend that you make an appointment to check this game out. I have a good feeling that this will justify my PSVR purchase from the very start.

Agent Trademark extended right before E3

Written by Damien

You guys remember the Take-Two Interactive Software PS3 exclusive title "Agent"? Well it turns out the game may still be in the works. A recent filing with the United States Patent and Trademark office shows that Take-Two has filed an extension for their title. What has people so excited is the fact that trademark law says that pre-emptive intent to use trademark application can only be extended five times in six month intervals and since this is Take-Two's fifth it seems that something substantial might be revealed. The company has a half year before they lose the property altogether.

Agent was supposed to be a launch title on PS3 and was originally announced at E3 2009. The game was to focus on political espionage and counter-intelligence during the Cold War.

Thanks to DualSOCKERS for the original story. We at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted as we get closer to E3 and maybe a reveal for Agent.

Harmonix Music Systems, Inc. announced the addition of Practice Mode to Rock Band 4 through this month's free game update. One of the most requested features by the Rock Band community, Practice Mode allows players to slow down and rehearse specific sections of any song in their music library. As a musician who holds degrees in both Music Education and Performance, this is an incredibly welcome addition to the game. More details on the fan favorite feature can be found on Harmonix's blog here.

June will also see the addition of eight new songs to Rock Band's expansive music library including five artists who are set to make their Rock Band debuts. The following songs will be available tomorrow for $1.99 per track:

Written by Damien

Developer Frontwire has finally gotten the green light to distribute its Star Wars Battlefront 3 fan project Galaxy in Turmoil from Valve. This may come as a big surprise considering Frontwire originally believed this would be impossible. Galaxy in Turmoil will make full use of the Star Wars IP and run on Unreal engine 4. Even though it is unlicensed, it will be available as a free download on Steam.

Frontwire president Tony Fergie Romanelli had this to say in a statement...

"It is with great pleasure that as of today I am able to officially announce that Frontwire Studios has officially signed a distribution deal with Steam/Valve for the game Galaxy in Turmoil, After ongoing discussion between Valve representatives and myself, Valve/Steam has agreed to ship Galaxy in Turmoil to its millions of users for FREE."

Galaxy in Turmoil has been in development for some time. The 3rd installation was originally in development at Free Radical before terminating the project. It was eventually picked up by Frontwire.

Fallout 4 Far Harbor having issues on PS4

Written by Damien

The recently released DLC for our Game of The Year Fallout 4's Far Harbor seems to be having issues on PS4. But company Bethesda has come forth with the remedy an updated version of the downloadable content if you are experiencing the issues.

Announced on Bethesda forums the company says that you will basically have to delete the DLC and redownload it. If this doesn't work here are the full steps from the post...

An updated version of Far Harbor that addresses performance issues is now available on PlayStation Network. To re-download the content, please take the following steps:

Confirm Fallout 4 is not running. Highlight Fallout 4 in your PS4 dashboard, press OPTIONS, and select CLOSE APPLICATION to ensure Fallout 4 is not running minimized.

Select RELATED ITEMS. You'll find this under the Fallout 4 icon in the PS4 dashboard.

Select MY ADD-ONS.

Navigate to the DOWNLOAD ARROW next to Far Harbor and select it.

You should see a notice that Far Harbor has been Added to Downloads.

Wait for the downloadable content to finish downloading and installing before starting Fallout 4.

If for any reason these steps do not work, you can delete Fallout 4 (and all add-on content) and simply reinstall the game (and add-ons from scratch).

Thank you for your continued support.

Currently the new version of Far Harbor is only available in the US but according to the Bethesda Twitter account, a EU version will be following in the very near future.

New Metal Gear Solid 3 Pachinko Game

Written by Damien

Konami plans to make good on their promise of making more games in the Metal Gear Solid franchise as they have announced Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater Remake... the Pachinko game. What's particularly interesting is that this new machine features redone cutscenes from the game in it what appears to be the Fox Engine. Many outlets are now speculating that a full fledged remake may be on the way. We did get an HD remaster of MGS3 Snake Eater in 2011 but that was just a better resolution and a higher frame rate. In the trailer below you will see how fantastic this game could look given the full on "Remake" treatment.

People are very unhappy about this announcement. The trailer video currently sits at 916 like and 29,003 dislikes and counting! There is a lot of hate going around the social media's. A Pachinko machine is the Japanese equivalent of Pinball and it should be noted that this most likely won't be coming to other territories when it's released in Japan this Autumn. We at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted as more details arise.

Written by Damien

According to Vg247 the Adult entertainment company Naughty America will be showcasing the first in VR Porn. The company plans to demo and showcase the latest in adult VR content claiming it is the first company to produce virtual reality pornography.

Representatives at the booth will be explaining how gamers can use VR headsets for adult content. Naughty America also has their own headset for $20 and it is said to be similar to google cardboard. I'm sure they will probably be selling headsets at their booth with napkins and lotion.

We at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted on all the VR news and how, if at all, porn changes the game.

Has a retailer in Switzerland leaked Crash Bandicoot?

Written by Damien

Rumors have been circling for sometime that an inevitable remake or all new Crash Bandicoot game could be coming to Sony consoles. The NECA Toys Director accidentally mentioned Sony bringing back the franchise, although he later went on to try and cover up his allegede mistake. Shawn Layden, president of SCEA, also went on to troll Playstation fans at PSX by coming out on stage wearing a Crash Bandicoot Shirt. If the Switzerland retailer Alcom is any indication, we could expect a reveal in the near future. A Neogaf user shared the initial link. You can check out the description and what was found below.

Now of course this should be taken with a grain of salt, but how fantastic would it be if a new Crash Bandicoot game was actually in existence? And better yet developed by Naughty Dog. We at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted as more news about Crash Bandicoot develops.

Written by Damien

The Pokemon company has released a new trailer showing off the two new legendary Pokemon from the box art of Sun and Moon, as well as some new characters and more interesting details about the upcoming games.

In the trailer we learn the names of the two new legendary Pokemon as well as their type and two of their new moves. First from Pokemon Sun we have Solgaleo- a lion looking psychic and steel type who has the full metal body ability which prevents its stats from lowering as well as the new move Sunsteel Strike. The next legendary from Pokemon Moon is Lunala- a psychic ghost type with the shadow shield ability, this pokemon will take less damage from a Pokemon with full hp. this Pokemon also has a new move, Moongeist Beam. It should be noted that both Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam ignore the abilities of Pokemon they hit, making them quite formidable moves.

We also got to see the new addition of Rotom (The Pokemon introduced in X and Y that could possess electronics.) will be infused in your Pokedex and through this, you will be able to speak with it and do various other things I'm sure.
