CEO of Ubisoft Yves Guillemot seems to be excited for the Nintendo NX, adding more fuel to the rumors that this new machine will be decidedly different for Nintendo and from Sony and Microsoft respectively.
While speaking to IGN at a Ubisoft event Guillemot shared why he was excited for NX
"I think, once again, the interface is very attractive," he said. "It's a machine that will be easy to use for all gamers. They have built in something that will give us chance to really have a different experience from what exists today. That's what I like - that they come with something new that is adapted to what we actually want now."
It was also noted that during a separate presentation Guillemont saying how he thought the NX was "a fantastic machine" adding that it was "something new" and "really Nintendo and loving it."
NX talk is nothing new as we have been pretty much getting hit with news from what it is, to mock ups and even game lineups throughout the first six months of the NX's life. We've all but confirmed that this is a handheld system that docks to your TV when at home. It will definitely use cartridges and most likely have detachable controllers. So it is exciting to get some sort of concrete news from somebody that would legit know what they're talking about. However this is Ubisoft and they kinda did this song and dance with Wii U and we all know how that turned out. Exclusive Ubisoft Wii U titles began making their way to other systems rather quickly.
When asked by IGN if Guillemot saw the NX as a step back he actually did keep it rather smart by saying
"It's difficult to answer that [before NX is revealed]. What we see is that Nintendo has learned from the Wii U. All publishers learn from what they do, and then come with something new and more attractive, which I think is the case here."
Attractive is an interesting adjective to use as now I can't help but think of the sleekest, sexiest beast, with the most advanced interface. But I'm sure we are getting something tacky because it's Nintendo and while the 3DS isn't ugly it sure as hell isn't winning any system pageants. So what do you think? Are you tired of all the NX news and rumors like we are? Do you just want Nintendo to finally start talking about the damn thing? Sound off on our Twitter and in the comments below and we at Skyematrixgaming will keep you posted as more concrete NX news develops.
